Spontaneous walk around London.

I was lucky enough to visit London this week. Something that I don't usually get the chance to do.
Which, to be honest is terrible. I live precisely an hour and 24 minutes away by train and I never go there. We arrived on Monday 26th January at about half 3 in the afternoon and were staying at the travelodge in Drury Lane. When we arrived we got a tube to Covent Garden, found our hotel, settled in and then went for Dinner at Zizzi. An incredible Italian restaurant which served me an absolutely delicious Spaghetti Bolognese.
(We also saw a show that evening, after we ate. Which was a Christmas present from my beautiful Mum which was why we were in London. But there will be a blog post following this revealing which show we saw so keep your eyes peeled for that!)
We also went for a nice quiet drink in a small pub just across the road from our hotel before we went back were we discussed what our favourite parts of the show was and were we simply celebrated a bit of mummy daughter time.

On Tuesday 27th January we had until 3:30 in the afternoon to enjoy a bit more quality time with each other before we went back home to the reality of having to get up the next day for work. As we were tided down to these certain train times our plan was to stay in Covent garden for the day and simply explore this beautiful part of the City. So clean, friendly and for a shopaholic like myself it was like heaven. With some of my favourite High end & High Street Stores around every corner i was onto a definite winner.  Then when it was time for us to head off we would simply get on the tube and be on our way.

However our day didn't exactly turn out that way. We decided to carry on walking down the streets of London as we had plenty of time to kill before we had to be at the station.
With absolutely no knowledge of London and not knowing were certain things are we had no idea what we could come across or where we would end up. I definitely learnt something about my mum during this trip. And that was that she is so incredibly useless at directions and getting her way around. So it was pretty much down to me to navigate us, which to be honest, probably wasn't the best idea but i like to think i did a pretty decent job considering we didn't get lost and I'm currently sat on my bed writing about it.

Whilst enjoying some lovely conversations, casually walking around, we suddenly found ourselves looking into the distance at the London eye, The sun was sat low and it looked so breathtaking with it shinning over the River Thames It was quite early in the morning so it was so peaceful and we just felt so lucky to have been in that moment, really appreciating one of the most touristy attractions London has to offer.
We were also very lucky to see Big Ben, Downing Street, Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace. Which are also such iconic places in London and the main attractions so many people from all over the world come to see. We definitely forget how lucky we are to live so close to such a lovely place, yet we don't take enough advantage of it.
We really didn't expect to see or come across so many incredible, iconic buildings that makes London what it is. It felt so spontaneous and amazing just walking around seeing the things you regularly see on the TV and in movies. Really appreciating them and their history.

Hope you enjoy the photos and I really hope they give such an amazing day of sightseeing and memories justice.
