Building a blanket fort

My parents went away for the weekend which left my brother and myself alone with the house with not an awful lot to do.
We currently have no sofa as we're redecorating the lounge which meant there wasn't anywhere comfortable to sit. Seen as though all the wallpaper has been stripped off the walls ready for them to be re-plastered it meant that we could pretty much do what we wanted...
Then the idea of building a comfortable and cosy blanket fort was definitely the way to go.
We hung some string from one wall to the other and secured them by banging nails into the walls.
We then hung loads of blankets, sheets and towels all along the pieces of string so we were surrounded. We got both my brothers and my mattress down into the lounge from upstairs (was definitely a challenge getting them down the stairs haha) and placed them next to each other.
we used 5 duvets, 15 pillows and 6 cushions for extra comfort.
As that was all into place we hung an old voile curtain from the wall to the middle of the ceiling to give us the effect of being under something but we equally didn't want to feel like we were too under cover as it is rather hot here in the UK at the moment.
We put the coffee table at the end so we could use a couple of fans to stay cool.
And of course it was  great for placing bowls of sweets, chocolates, crisps and popcorn! So we didn't really have to move at all. Only when we needed to change the DVD.
We've spent a total of 4 days in our fort and it has been amazing. Has been such a nice way to kick back, relax and have a bit of childhood fun.
Inside our fort.
Looking into our fort.
Snuggled up under the duvet.

Sweets, crisps, popcorn & chocolate.
Even Chips got involved! She absolutely love it.
Running though the blankets and trying to jump over everything.
But more importantly the amount of comfortable cat naps she got along with lot of snuggles.

Have any of you guys built a blanket fort?
How did you do it and how much did you love it?
